Wedding Checklist

Well, those of you who have had the pleasure of organising a wedding, know exactly how much of a headache it can be. Not to mention the cost! (Ouch!) Here is MoneyBackMadness' Wedding Checklist to help you along the way.

Between 6 - 12 months prior.

1. Book your Church, Registry Office, Hotel, Castle, or wherever you are getting married and your reception venue.
2. Discuss Menus and Entertainment.
3. Start thinking about where you would like to go for your honeymoon and start checking out the prices.
4. Start looking for your wedding dress, with a view to choosing one at least 6 months before to allow time for alterations etc.
5. Choose colour theme, Bridesmaid dresses and Men's suits.
6. Depending on what you want, you may be jetting off for a weekend away for your hen/stag do's, if this is the case, get it booked asap to get a great deal!

5 months prior.

1. Book Photographer (make sure you get a few quotes and ensure you wont be fleeced when it comes to choosing which pictures you want for your album). Also decide on Video Company.
2. Book Cars and coaches for guests (if required).
3. Order Wedding Cake.
4. Make Wedding Gift List.
5. If some guests are coming from afar, send out the invitations to give them plenty of notice (include maps, local hotels, gift list).

4 months prior.

1. Start deciding on flowers and arrangements.
2. Visit wedding venue and discuss how the day should go (according to your plan!)
3. Order stationery.
4. Choose wedding rings.

3 months prior.

1. Decide on and buy gifts for bridesmaids, ushers, fathers. (Mothers normally receive a bouquet, your choice).
2. Finalise Honeymoon arrangements.

2 months prior.

1. Post invitations (include maps, local hotel and gift list) if you haven't done this already.
2. Record acceptance/refusals, ensure you have enough people for the minimum amount required.

1 month prior.

1. Finalise numbers and seating plan.
2. Check wedding clothes.
3. Go for a hair and make-up rehearsal.

1 week prior.

1. Don't panic, everything will run smoothly!
2. Order bouquets for presents (if needed).
3. Full rehearsal of wedding.
4. Make sure you have enough clothes for your honeymoon, start packing!
5. Make final checks on flowers, photographer and transport.
6. Enjoy your hen/stag night if you haven't had one already (make sure you don't have a hangover on your wedding day! :))
